I got to hang out with my mom for a few hours yesterday, which was really nice! We mostly just laid in bed with the dogs, watched Pretty Little Liars, and talked shit. Mostly we talked about how things are going with the baby (I also had a prenatal appointment yesterday morning, everything looks great!) and if there's anything we still need.
We also took the dogs for a little walk and ended up getting caught in the rain! (It's been raining almost nonstop for what feels like months.) So, we had taken the dogs up and around the block and we were standing in the little alley when both heard this odd shushh-ing sound. I looked down the street and saw, maybe 50 ft away, rain falling. At first I thought it was just water falling from the tree leaves but there was too much for that and, honestly, not even wind to cause all that, anyway. So 50 ft away it was raining, and where we were standing, it was not. But I could literally watch the downpour moving toward us until we got hit and tried to huddle under the tiny overhang of someone's garage.
Which didn't really do much anyway. Although, hilariously, I noticed they had a camera facing the exact spot where we were standing, so they're probably going to get a good laugh out of us trying (and failing) to stay dry when they watch the footage back.
Luckily, the worst of it passed pretty quickly, but we were still pretty soaked by the time we got back to the house. We both got a real kick out of it and thought it was very funny.
The dogs? Maybe not so much...
